It’s Teacher Appreciation Week—a time to honor the devoted teachers in our lives. This week we are highlighting five teachers who were nominated by colleagues for their outstanding contributions and dedication. Each of these teachers will receive $100 in books from Booksource. Thanks to teachers everywhere for all that you do!
Angel Rodrigue
Nomination:
Angel Rodrigue, 1st grade teacher at Milton Elementary, is most deserving of an award for purchasing leveled text for her classroom. Angel is one of the most dynamic, dedicated, child-centered teachers I have ever had the pleasure of working with in my career. Her devotion to ensuring every student in her classroom makes a year’s growth in a year’s time is the standard under which she operates. She prides herself in being able to differentiate instruction and meet the individual needs of each student entrusted to her care. For many years she has taught second grade and worked very hard to build her resources to meet the needs of students at this grade level. This year she embraced a grade level change to first grade and a building change to a building that does not have the wealth of resources that were available to her in the past. While she has worked diligently to secure materials to meet the needs of her students, she would benefit greatly from additional support. She would carefully select materials to spend the money on that would match the needs of her students and be utilized daily. Personally, I cannot think of a more deserving recipient.
